Day four

We're done! Well, not quite. There are a couple things that need to be done, a safety gate and general clean-up and maintenance in the center.
We set up the climbing wall into the holes we dug yesterday, firmed it up, mixed cement by hand and poured the final bit of cement. While a few of the guys were busy with that, the women hurried to paint the roof sections that had been cut the day before. They finished the two coats by lunch time.
More platforms and guards were wrestled into place and the tops of the 14 foot timbers were cut off and prepared for the roof sections.
After lunch the roof sections were assembled on the ground and hoisted, hand over hand, from body to body from the ground to their places 12 and 15 feet off the ground. Some of the peruvian workers helped us. We couldn't have done it without them. We have had a good relationship with them throughout this week. We may not understand everything they say, or they us, but a smile and warm greeting is universal way of showing acceptance and love. We came to find out that they know Jesus as Lord. We are brothers and sisters in Christ.
After work the directors of the home and the children had a delightful program and bonfire for us. It was an emotional time as they expressed their thanks and showed their love. What a warm hearted people!
This has been a great week, but I have to admit that our thoughts have been turning toward home again. We thank God for you and your prayers on our behalf.
